The focus of the project REHOUSE is to increase in the scope and productivity of the renovation process, the improvement of comfort and satisfaction of the building inhabitants and users, and the increased use of integrated solutions for the decentralized generation of renewable energy.
Over the course of next 4 years the project will develop 8 innovative and holistic solutions for efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable renovation processes. The solutions will be deployed across 4 demo sites in Greece, Italy, France, and Hungary respectively. This will include detailed designs, pilot set-up and demonstrations to validate the solutions. If proven successful, the renovation solutions can be introduced to the market, implemented on a large scale, and eventually contribute to speeding up the current renovation rate.
The Faith Church (FCHURCH) will provide the fourth demo building in the project, where 3 different types of renovation solutions will be tested. It is also coordinating a sub-task of the Social Innovation Work Package. Within this, FCHURCH is responsible for the following tasks:
- Coordinating the creation of Social Task Forces.
- Analysis of social innovation activities.
- Diagnosing of the current situation in the local context of the REHOUSE 4 demonstrators.
- RP#2: Adaptable/dynamic building envelope (RENEL).
- RP#7: Activated cellulose thermal insulation made of wood waste (WOODS).
- RP#8: INTELLIGENT WINDOWS SYSTEM, IWS (WOODS).
The building is located in the Hit Park area, in a pleasant landscaped setting. Originally a brick factory, it is now a dormitory. The building has 2 floors plus attic and basement. The ground floor is used by boys, while the first floor and attic are used by girls, with separate entrances. The basement is used for technical units and storage. In addition to the rooms, the building also has social rooms (bathrooms, small kitchens), one on each floor.
