Laying hands on is a holy act when God's servant lays his hands on a person for spiritual purposes. Generally it is accompanied by a prayer or prophecy.

Based on the New Testament there are five aims of the laying on of hands:

- physical healing

- to transfer spiritual fruits and gifts, or confirm them in public

- to fill somebody with the Holy Spirit

- to send Christian workers out from the local church to perform a godly mission

- to ordain someone to a specific position in the local church.

The Laying on of Hands must be exercised only according to the Scriptures.
